MARKET SUMMARY:
The first quarter of 2026 was negative (not what we are accustomed to in recent years) driven by the Iran conflict. As we turned the page to April, the market rebounded quickly and surpassed 7000 on the S&P 500 - ultimately trading at record highs. This reinforces Adam Turnquist’s bullish view (based largely on technical analysis) presented at our event. He highlighted several key factors in this perspective; markets were oversold, the economy remains on solid footing, earnings growth is projected to be in the mid to high teens for 2026, and we have a substantial tailwind driven by AI spending and productivity improvements.
For the remainder of the year, we expect the tailwinds to outpace headwinds. We view the leading headwinds as the current pressure on oil and the inflation impact, midterm election volatility, slower than anticipated rate cuts, and labor market growth decelerating. However, these headwinds are balanced by several factors, namely by the anticipation of the Iran conflict ending soon – which will ease oil prices and relax inflation, a new Fed Chairman who is more inclined to lower rates, historical trends which suggests markets trade up following midterm elections, and fiscal stimulus from the OBBBA (One Big Beautiful Bill Act).
TEAM RECOGNITION:
We are immensely proud to share that Raanan Pritzker, CFA® has recently received three distinguished national recognitions:
- Forbes | SHOOK Best-In-State Wealth Advisors -- Georgia, 2026.
- LPL Financial Summit Advisor -- a designation awarded to the top 2% of advisors affiliated with LPL Financial nationwide.
While these honors are attributed to Raanan individually, they reflect the dedication of our entire team. Brian Brenneman, Neal Foushee, Andrew Bacharach, Stephen Che'Menju, and Lynn Stevenson, who each contribute daily to the standard of care and service that makes recognition like this possible. Thank you for the trust you place in all of us.
PLANNING NOTES AND REMINDERS:
Charitable Giving Deduction. For clients who use the standard deduction, the OBBBA includes a new provision permitting up to $1,000 ($2,000 for a married couple) in additional above the line deductions for cash charitable donations. This is a meaningful planning opportunity worth discussing with your CPA. Our team is also happy to help you develop a strategy.
Roth 401(k) Contributions. If you participate in an employer-sponsored retirement plan, we encourage you to revisit your contribution designation. The Roth 401(k) option may offer significant long-term tax advantages depending on your income trajectory. For clients over age 50, “catch up” contributions must be made into a Roth account in your 401(k). We are glad to model this and help determine whether it aligns with your goals.
Fraud Protection and Awareness. Identity theft, wire fraud, and phishing scams are becoming more common and significantly more sophisticated. Accordingly, in our ongoing focus to safeguard your wealth, we will continue to be proactive and hyper-vigilant for any requests made on your behalf. While we know the extra layers of confirmation may be cumbersome at times, we appreciate your understanding and patience as our top priority is to protect you. We also encourage you to remain vigilant for your loved ones – especially aging family members.
Communication Preferences. Email or phone calls remain our preferred channel for client inquiries, enabling us to respond promptly and maintain a clear record of your requests. However, you are also welcome to reach us via MyRepChat (text our office numbers directly - for example, Raanan Pritzker: 404-418-4445). We are committed to responding to you in a timely manner.
